Have you ever wondered how a song is made? Well there are a variety of ways, but most of the time, commercial songs are recorded throughout studios across the world. Below are just some of the popular methods in which songs are brought to life.
Many sound engineers used to record in what was called the “Analog Age”, which consisted of using outboard music equipment such as mixing consoles, outboard effects tubes and boxes, and even bouncing down a song down to cassette. Some people would even record to a compact recording system built specifically for record music, which could burn the songs or store them with its built-in drive. All of that has now changed due to technology now in the Digital Age, which basically lets engineer mix and record recordings all in the computer or workstation. Most audio engineers still use outboard gear to record vocals, but then they use compact systems such as computers, and audio software to record any sound, and bounce into mp3 format. Compact recording systems make the lives of engineers and people who record easier, but it is very simple to use, and can save more time than using a large, hardware studio.
